Plan Your Holiday

Our tennis camps are a great way to permanently improve your tennis, whilst also enjoying a personalised holiday. Before your camp even starts, you’ll be invited to complete some self-assessment materials, and then consider what you’d most like to focus on during your sessions.

Then, when your tennis begins, you’ll be assessed by an experienced coach who’ll suggest what to cover in each of your sessions. And they’ll also identify some suitable local players for you to play with, if you are interested in playing any doubles or singles matches. You’ll then spend the next few days enjoying your coaching sessions and matches, whilst enjoying the rest of your holiday.

The text below outlines the suggested phases of your programme, although every aspect of this will be flexible very aspect of your tennis programme will be flexible.

Our tennis can offer the perfect balance of developing your game, and enjoying a personalised holiday that’s tailored to your preferences.

Phase 1: Your Assessment

You’ll meet your coach to discuss the upcoming camp, and everything that you’d like to improve during the end of your sessions. Then, you’ll follow your coach’s instructions for the rest of the session, while they assess where each part of your game is at the moment.

Later in the day, you’ll then be invited to play a singles match with another player who is at a similar standard to yourself, and your coach will watch at least part of this match. Then, your coach will share a “benchmark assessment” report with you, which each of your upcoming sessions will be based on.

Phase 2: Your Forehand & Serving

You’ll meet your coach to discuss your benchmark report, and agree a plan of action with regards to your target improvements. Then, you’ll spend most of this session working on your forehand, and trying to implement all of the improvements that your coach suggests.

Towards the end of this session, you’ll then be invited to practice both your first and second serve with your coach, and you’ll be given lots of helpful tips on how to improve it, along with a series of tips for when you practice on your own. Then, later in the day, you’ll be invited to play a doubles match with players of a similar standard, to help you practice each of your new skills.

Phase 3: Your Backhand & Returning

You’ll meet your coach to discuss everything that you’ve learned during the initial sessions, and also the way that you felt you played during your initial matches (if you chose to play them). Then, you’ll spend most of this session working on your backhand, whilst trying to implement what your coach teaches you.

Then, you’ll spend some time returning different types of serves from your coach, in order to identify where your current strengths and weaknesses are, before learning how to improve these returns. Then, you’ll finish the session by practicing recommended volleying techniques.

It’ll then be time to have your sports massage (if you have opted to have this), and to read the content that’s provided to you via email on how to recover effectively after tennis.

Phase 4: Your Special Shots & Progress Measurement

During this phase, you’ll be invited to discuss everything that you’ve learned with your coach, before they’ll then recommend a set of tactics that you should try to use in your upcoming match.

The coach will then invite you to practice these tactics with them, before you’ll then play another singles match against a similar standard opponent later in the day. Your coach will watch at least some of this match, and they will then share a progress report document with you after it has finished.
